Monica + Danny | Glasbern Inn Elopement
Things are changing quickly as we navigate these strange times. Last month, I was invited to document and celebrate a beautiful love. Monica and Danny were married on a cloudless day in February at the Glasbern Inn of the Lehigh Valley. They chose to say their vows simply, with an intimate afternoon elopement. I felt as if they were sharing a precious secret with me in asking Nina Lily to document this moment. Reverend Connie Foreback and I were the only witnesses. And after the heartfelt ceremony, Monica, Danny and I explored the rolling Pennsylvania hills surrounding the Inn, celebrating what I would later understand to be a stolen moment. A blessing.
Monica and Danny’s love is inspiring. These two are gentle and kind to one another. They look deep into each other’s eyes and project respect, admiration and trust. I witnessed playfulness and passion in those glances. There is an understanding that comes with knowing who you are before committing to another person.
I feel privileged that Monica and Danny shared this with me. Telling our individual stories is vulnerable. Within that vulnerability, we help others access the courage to tell their own stories. And, therein lies the connection. The stories that I help people tell, trigger memories of beautiful moments in time. We connect to these stories and in doing so connect with each other.
