Julia + Tommy | Alpenhof B&B - Sycamore Park Wedding
I was thrilled when Julia and Tommy invited me to document their marriage last spring!
Julia had been an integral part of Nina Lily Photography those first years. We had met while working at the University of the Arts. I was transitioning out of the restaurant industry and moving towards starting my own photography business when I got a job doing administration at my alma mater in the Media Arts Department. This job was a turning point for me and the support network that I gained was invaluable. In fact, Julia was a student in the department at the time and she did work study in our office. It was a natural transition for Julia to begin assisting me on my weddings and as early as 2009, she began helping with the business. Once I began photographing weddings full time, I asked Julia if she would join me as my office assistant at my home studio. I couldn't have gotten through my 2012 season without her help! Since then, she has gone on to pursue her own dreams out west and I couldn't be happier for her!
Julia and Tommy also met at UArts. Julia worked in the Media Arts office and Tommy worked in the Equipment Room. Gradually, Julia noticed Tommy stopping by the office more and more. A friendship turned into a romance and marriage was the next step as they built their life together.
Over Labor Day Weekend, Julia and Tommy said their vows under the beautiful old tree at Lansdowne Park where they first spoke of love. Their intimate outdoor ceremony was attended by close family and friends. Prior to the ceremony, I joined them at the Alpenhof Bed & Breakfast in Media, PA to photograph a few getting ready details. Julia and Tommy allowed me to take a few portraits in the garden and even indulged me in shooting some film with them!
There were so many things about the day that I loved... including being a guest! My favorite detail was hands down the beautiful wedding dress that Julia wore. The gown was made by her grandmother and was just perfect for her!
I couldn't be happier for these two and wish them all the best. I know that they are creating a life full of adventure out there!
Enjoy!
